The Best Master Thesis in Customer Experience & Customer Service

The KALEPA Award is an annual competition recognizing the best master thesis written at a Belgian university on the topics of Customer Experience (CX) and Customer Service.

The goal? Shining a spotlight on groundbreaking research that pushes the boundaries of CX and Customer Service innovation. Your thesis might offer new insights, challenge existing practices, or present fresh strategies that can shape the future of the industry.

How to participate

  1. Complete your thesis – Permission from your supervisor is not required but strongly recommended.
  2. Submit your thesis until 1 October by following the step-by-step process.
  3. Answer the additional questions about your research.
  4. Stay updated – Sign up for our newsletter or follow us on social media for competition updates.

Step-by-step submission process

To participate, send a digital version of your thesis via e-mail (in Dutch, English or French) following this structure:

  • E-mail send to: welcome@thekalepagroup.com 
  • Subject: Submission FULL NAME - The KALEPA Award
     
  • Your e-mail follows this structure:
    • Through this mail, I officially register for The KALEPA Award. 
    • First name: 
    • Last name: 
    • Date of birth: 
    • University at which the thesis was completed:
    • Subject and title of the thesis:
    • Final result of the thesis:
    • Does this thesis contain confidential information? YES/NO
       
  • Attached are the following documents:
    • A digital version of your thesis 
    • Final result of the thesis (copy of score sheet)
    • A short description of your thesis in no more than 500 words
    • An explanation of the interfaces with Customer Experience and/or Customer Service?
    • A clarification to what extent the work is relevant to the further development of this domain 

After registration follows a confirmation of receipt. Only then are you officially registered. 

By entering this competition, you agree to the guidelines and competition rules.

FAQ

Master's theses written in duo are also eligible for the prize but will be considered as one submission. Both students must endorse the submission. If a duo thesis is chosen as laureate, the cash prize will be divided equally between both students (i.e., each student will receive €250).

You can participate in The KALEPA Award if your thesis is written in one of the following languages: Dutch, English or French.

Even with a confidential thesis, you can participate. Please indicate this when submitting your application (see step-by-step submission process). 

The members of the jury will of course be informed of the confidentiality of your thesis and will consequently only read your thesis for the jury. In any case, it will remain confidential.
